Terms of Use
What you can do with what you buy, how refunds work, and why updates are free.
Last updated September 18, 2026
Yizzoo is run by Selfdefiant, who designs the escape games, scavenger hunts and puzzles on this site. These are the terms you are agreeing to by using it or buying something from it. They are written to be read, not to be survived. If anything here is unclear, email [email protected] and a person will answer.
The short version
- The guides are free. Read them, follow them, run them with your own family, class or group. You do not need permission and you do not owe a credit.
- If you buy a printable, you can print it as many times as you like for your own home and for your own classroom. You cannot resell it or pass the file on.
- Refunds: 30 days, no questions. One email and it is done.
- Updates are free forever. When a file is improved, the new version is yours at no cost.
The free guides
Everything in Ideas and Guides is free to read and free to use. Build the thing it describes, run it with whoever you like, change it to suit your house and your players. That is what it is for.
Copying the written guides onto another website is not okay, and neither is republishing them as your own. Using the ideas in them to build your own adventure is not copying: it is the entire point.
What you are buying
A printable adventure is a license to use the files, not ownership of them. What that license lets you do is deliberately generous, because the alternative is a rule nobody would follow anyway.
You may:
- Print as many copies as you want. There is no per-copy limit and never will be.
- Run it as many times as you want, for as many groups as you want.
- Use it in your own classroom. One teacher, one classroom, your own students, as often as you like. Teachers are a real part of who this site is for, and a license that pretended otherwise would just be one people quietly broke.
- Change it. Cross things out, swap the clues, rewrite a puzzle for your group.
- Keep it. There is no expiry and no subscription.
You may not:
- Sell it, or sell printed copies of it.
- Share the file. Not with another teacher, not on a school drive, not in a class group, not on a file-sharing site. If a colleague wants it, send them here.
- Upload it anywhere other people can download it from.
- Use it as part of a paid event or a business you charge for, without asking first.
That last one is a conversation rather than a refusal. If you run parties, a library, a camp or a childcare business and want to use these properly, email [email protected]. There is no license page for it yet because nobody has asked; the answer will probably be yes.
Refunds
Ask within 30 days and you get your money back. You do not have to say why, you will not be talked out of it, and nothing will be held against you if you buy something else later. Email [email protected] with the address you used.
This is a better deal than most digital shops offer, and it is not generosity: a refund somebody has to fight for turns into a card dispute, and a dispute costs everybody more than the sale was worth. It is simpler to just say yes.
Updates are free, forever
When a file gets fixed or improved, you get the new version at no cost. Sign in and it is in My Adventures, ready to download again. There is no window on this and no upgrade fee.
It matters more than it sounds. Most of the improvements to these adventures come from somebody writing in to say a clue was unclear or a group got stuck somewhere they should not have. That correction should reach the people who already paid, not only the next person to buy.
Buying without an account
You do not need an account to buy anything. Pay with an email address and the download is yours immediately.
If you later sign in with Google using that same address, everything you have bought attaches itself to the account and shows up in My Adventures. Nothing is lost by not signing up, and nothing has to be done twice if you do.
Prices, payment and mistakes
Prices are in US dollars and are shown before you pay. Payment is handled by a payment processor; Yizzoo never sees or stores your card details. The privacy policy says what is kept.
If a price is ever displayed wrongly - a missing digit, a broken discount - you will not be charged the wrong amount without being asked first. If it has already been taken, it gets refunded.
What this site does not promise
The advice here is given in good faith by somebody who has made thousands of these games over twenty years. It is not a guarantee that a particular group will enjoy a particular adventure, or that a puzzle will land the way it landed for somebody else. Judgment about your own players is yours, and you have more of it than this site does.
That matters most around anything physical. These adventures send people into garages, gardens, lofts and dark rooms, and some of them involve small children. Check the space, think about what a determined eight year old will climb, and do not use anything here in a way you would not be comfortable supervising.
Things that can change
Guides get rewritten, products get retired, and prices change. Anything you have already bought stays yours at the price you paid, downloadable and updated, whatever happens to the listing afterwards.
If these terms change in a way that affects something you have already bought, the version you bought under is the one that applies to it.
Where this is governed
Yizzoo is operated from the United States and these terms are governed by US law. If something goes wrong, email first: almost everything is fixed by one message, and nothing on this site is worth either of us doing anything else.
