About Yizzoo

Yizzoo is where the escape rooms, scavenger hunts, treasure hunts and mystery games live. Some of them you build yourself from a guide. Some of them are already built, and you print them.

Who makes it

Yizzoo was created by Selfdefiant, who has been making escape games for twenty years and has made thousands of them. That is the whole reason this site exists rather than being another page of printables: the advice here comes from games that were actually played, by real people, who got stuck in places the designer did not expect.

What it is built around

One idea, mostly: puzzles should make people feel clever, not frustrated. A good puzzle is not the one nobody can solve. It is the one where the answer was reachable the whole time and finding it felt like something you did.

That is why the guides talk about failure modes as much as ideas, and why every adventure says how long it takes and how much setting up it needs before you pay for anything.
