Rainy Day Adventures

Everything in the library worth setting up for rainy day.

A rainy day has a specific problem that a party does not: it arrives without warning, and nobody has planned for it. Whatever you reach for has to work from a standing start with what is already in the house.

That rules out anything needing a shopping trip, and it rules out most crafts, which take longer to set up than they hold attention. What works is something that prints in one pass and starts immediately: a puzzle quest done at the kitchen table, or a hunt through rooms you cannot leave anyway.

The useful thing about a wet afternoon is that there is no clock on it. Nobody has to be anywhere at four. That is the one time a longer, slower adventure is the right call, and it is worth having one printed and in a drawer before you need it, because the afternoon you need it is not the afternoon you will feel like finding the printer paper.
